This hour will be an opportunity to experience music as a therapy. It will allow participants to engage in music therapy tasks and discussions of music therapy experiences. Participants will have to chance to listen to music as well as actively create music and lyrics in a music therapy setting.
Instructor John Berns’ background in Music Therapy began with studying at Temple University, where he received a Masters Degree in Music Therapy in 1983. He later obtained a PhD in Educational Psychology at Temple in 2000. He has taught a graduate course in music therapy at Drexel University since 1999 and has engaged in music therapy in various settings for over 30 years.
